Hugo Vinicius Bitencourt
I am a Software Engineer, Data Scientist and Researcher with over ten years of professional experience and an academic background, including a Ph.D. in Computational Intelligence, a Master’s degree in Microelectronics and Microsystems, and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. My career bridges research in computational intelligence with real-world software engineering, enabling me to design, implement, and deploy scalable, data-driven systems in production environments.
I have specialized in artificial intelligence and time series forecasting, with hands-on experience in machine learning and statistical modeling. My doctoral research focused on predictive methods for IoT and renewable energy systems, fuzzy time series models, dimensionality reduction techniques, and the development of new forecasting algorithms, including open-source contributions. More recently, my research has expanded to federated learning, foundation models (LLMs, SLMs) and agentic AI applied to complex systems, improving accuracy, robustness, security, and cross-domain generalization.
In industry, I design cloud architectures, lead complex system integrations, lead technical initiatives, ensure system reliability, and collaborate closely with business teams. I am comfortable working across the full lifecycle of products — from problem definition, system development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. I conduct applied research on Federated Learning, Language Models, Agentic AI, and Data Analysis and Processing. My technical toolkit includes Python, machine learning frameworks, microservices architectures, Java, REST APIs, cloud platforms, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools, combined with strong software engineering best practices.
